New Porch Leadwork
When it comes to roofing, especially in regions with harsh weather conditions, durability and proper installation are critical to the…
We were called to address issues with a lead gulley that had corroded and cracked over time. The primary cause was the incorrect sizing of the lead, with 2-meter lengths that exceeded recommended standards. Additionally, a breather membrane had been improperly installed beneath the leadwork, contributing to the damage.
To resolve the problem, we replaced the leadwork with properly sized sections to ensure longevity and durability. We also installed new leadwork around the coping stones, as leaks had developed at the abutment where the stones met the roof. This solution not only stopped the leaks but also provided a robust, weatherproof finish to protect the structure for years to come.
